It’s being launched amid reports of rampant use of unlicensed engineering and design software by practitioners in these industries.
Secure Productive Enterprise is the most trusted, secure, and productive way to work that brings together Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, and Windows 10 Enterprise. It replaces the Enterprise Cloud Suite and introduces even more value within this offering.
Secure Productive Enterprise helps you empower employees on your Digital Transformation journey. Secure Productive Enterprise uses best-in-class cloud services to deliver the latest and most advanced innovations in enterprise security, management, collaboration, and business analytics.
Secure Productive Enterprise offers flexible licensing for customers who are moving to the cloud with a single, per-user subscription that’s cloud-first with on-premises capabilities. Customers with Secure Productive Enterprise have the right to install, access, and use Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business servers in dedicated environments without the need to buy an on-premises application or server software. Customers can leverage their existing productivity investments for licensed users while moving to the cloud.
Secure Productive Enterprise is available through the Enterprise Agreement, Enterprise Agreement Subscription, and Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA). Secure Productive Enterprise will be available in the Cloud Solution Provider program (CSP) later in 2016.
Does Enterprise Mobility Suite have a new name?
Yes. Enterprise Mobility + Security is the new name for what was previously the Enterprise Mobility Suite. This name change reflects the tremendous new security value in this offering. Aligned with the new packaging, there will be an Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 and an Enterprise Mobility + Security E5. The Enterprise Mobility Suite E5 offering will be available later this calendar year and will include advanced security capabilities. You can learn more about these changes at the Enterprise Mobility + Security blog.
Does Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS) have a new name?
Yes. Starting October 2016, Enterprise Cloud Suite will be renamed to Secure Productive Enterprise E3.
How does Secure Productive Enterprise E3 differ from Enterprise Cloud Suite?
Secure Productive Enterprise E3 (and E5) will be offered in a single, per-user SKU, including never-before cloud-first, on-premises capable licensing entitlements to help subscribers transition from on-premises environments: one install of Office Professional Plus (for existing Software Assurance users for the term of their subscription) and productivity server entitlements including Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business (conditions apply). Secure Productive Enterprise will help customers address special line-of-business and mission-critical scenarios that may otherwise slow or defer digital transformation.
If I’m an existing Enterprise Cloud Suite customer, what happens now that Secure Productive Enterprise is available?
Existing Enterprise Cloud Suite customers are now Secure Productive Enterprise E3 customers and therefore inherit the Productivity Server Rights as a Secure Productive Enterprise benefit. In most cases, customers will not need to continue to purchase additional server licenses.
