Founded in 1997 as a peripheral solutions company, Netaphor
designs and develops solutions that manage and reduce the
costs generated by IT assets. The company is privately held
and its customers are global. Current customers include 3Com,
Canon USA, Konica Minolta, Matsushita (Panasonic), Siemens,
and Invensys and bear testimony to the success of its products
and its business model.
Netaphor has provided a mixture of software management products
and services to OEM partners. Products like MetaConsole, introduced
in 2001, give OEMs an easy-to-use management tool for monitoring
printer or storage equipment status, error condition and alarm
notification. The company's engineering services have enabled
OEM partners to offer data collection and assessment tools
for the enterprise, office printing and factory automation
markets.
The challenge that faces today's IT industry is not how to
get networks or networking devices to operate, but how to
get them to operate cost effectively and provide a return
on investment (ROI) commensurate with management's financial
goals. The challenge exists at all levels of IT administration,
from small office networks of five to ten devices at a single
location to large corporate networks involving thousands of
devices over multiple locations.
